Смертность среди заключенных, содержащихся в следственных изоляторах Москвы, с начала года сократилась на половину, сообщили в прокуратуре столицы. При этом в подробном рапорте нет данных о том, сколько заключенных умерли и по каким причинам.

Зато прокуратура подробно рассказывает о решении основной проблемы изоляторов - их переполнения. "Прокуратурой города, совместно с заинтересованными ведомствами, разработан и реализуется комплекс мероприятий, направленных на сокращение сроков содержания под стражей", - цитирует рапорт ТАСС.

В результате принимаемых мер, в сравнении с 2016 годом, количество лиц, содержащихся под стражей, сократилось на 12 % (с 11 624 до 10 604), подчеркивается в сообщении.

В ходе проверок прокуроры выявили с начала года 85 нарушений закона об условиях содержания под стражей. К дисциплинарной ответственности привлечено 70 сотрудников уголовно-исполнительной системы Москвы.
