Bettina Arndt accused those of questioning the couple of “total hypocrisy” and highlighted the abuse of children in institutions and how people “don’t give a stuff” about those cases. Speaking on Sky News Australia, she defended the French presidential hopeful, 39, and his wife Brigitte Trogneux, 64, who married her former drama student 10 years ago. They first met when he was 15 years old and she was a 40-year-old married mother-of-three. She said: “I certainly couldn’t see it [happen] here [Australia], no way, but also it’s total hypocrisy. “We jump up and down in the Royal Commission about abuse of people in institutions, we don’t give a stuff about the major risk for children, which is children in single parent families being abused by boyfriends passing in and out of those families. “There are a whole load of areas we don’t discuss because they’re not politically correct and we put all the emphasis on – obviously we’re trying to get the Catholic church, attack the churches. I mean this area is rife with hypocrisy.” Referring to Mr Macron’s marriage, Arndt said relationships were “really complex”. She said: “I think that sort of pop psychology is rubbish, this idea there must necessarily be something wrong with this man. “And we could draw all these conclusions from that particular behaviour, who knows? We don’t know about that relationship? All it says, is that relationships are really complex and they’ve been together for 10 years. “And they obviously have something of lasting rewarding union there – and bully for them I say.” The 2007 marriage comes after Mr Macron’s parents sent him to Paris when he was 17 to continue his studies after learning about his relationship with Ms Trogneux. His mother spoke to Anna Fulda, author of the book Emmanuel Macron: A Perfect Young Man and revealed that she initially thought that her son was interested in Brigitte’s daughter Laurence, who was one of his classmates. “We couldn’t believe it. What is clear is that when Emmanuel met Brigitte we couldn’t just say ‘that’s great’,” she said. The couple has not revealed at which point their relationship became romantic. Ms Trogneux is quoted in the book as saying: “Nobody will ever know at what moment our story became a love story. That belongs to us. That is our secret.” Read More: http://mcregional.tv/index.php?option=com_k2&view=itemlist&task=user&id=169591 http://logoped-kazan.ru/index.php?option=com_k2&view=itemlist&task=user&id=1221726 http://www.la.fnst.org/component/k2/itemlist/user/3532928 http://www.bau-truck.ru/index.php?option=com_k2&view=itemlist&task=user&id=72992 http://thebeergoddess.com/component/k2/itemlist/user/772456 |
